On Wednesday, December 17, the Champ Bailey Family Foundation spread holiday cheer during its annual “Toys for Joy” Toy Drive and Christmas Party, held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 204 Mary McLeod Bethune Drive. The family-friendly event welcomed children ages 3 to 12 for an evening filled with festive activities and entertainment. Highlights included visits with Santa, face painting, games, a magic show, and interactive encounters with swamp animals. The celebration created a joyful Christmas experience while giving back to children and families in the community.
As part of the toy drive, the first 125 children in attendance received toys, making the night especially memorable for young participants. Colorful decorations and a cheerful holiday theme helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the evening. Football Hall of Famer Champ Bailey shared his passion for giving back to his hometown and the people who supported him throughout his journey. Bailey said his favorite part of the event was seeing the kids enjoy themselves and being able to help families by providing a positive and uplifting experience during the holiday season. Bailey also emphasized that the event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of his mother, Elaine Bailey; his sister, Danielle; and the women of the Divas group, who played key roles in organizing and supporting the celebration. The Champ Bailey Family Foundation expressed its gratitude to everyone who attended and brought their children out to celebrate the holiday. Overall, the “Toys for Joy” event was successful, bringing smiles, laughter, and holiday spirit to the community.
