Daniel and Vanessa were united in marriage on October 17, 2026, at Rustic Roots Event Venue in Homeland, Georgia. The ceremony took place at 5:07 p.m., a special time chosen in honor of the bride’s grandson’s racecar 07.
The couple’s love story began in 2023 when Dan and Vanessa met and quickly became friends. They often met for lunch with mutual friends, enjoying one another’s company. In December 2024, Dan invited Vanessa to accompany him to a Christmas party. She accepted, still considering their relationship a friendship. The following month, in January 2025, Dan invited her to attend his family’s cane grinding and syrup-making gathering, followed by dinner in Waynesville, Georgia. From there, their friendship blossomed into something more, and the rest, as they say, is history.
The wedding was made even more meaningful by the participation of family members. Dan’s grandson, Jared Cook, served as best man, while Valerie Rawlerson of Atlanta, Georgia, served as the bride’s attendant. Vanessa’s grandson, Gage Griffin, had the special honor of giving her away. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple celebrated their wedding in a lovely ceremony filled with love, joy and cherished memories.
