Charlton County senior baseball player Slade Oxley signed to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level on Friday at a ceremony held at the high school. Oxley will play at Union Commonwealth University in Barboursville, Kentucky. Union is a NAIA school that plays in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Oxley is still in action with the Indian baseball squad as they head to the Final Four of the GHSA State Playoffs. He is second on the team with a .347 batting average and is tied for the team high with five home runs. He started five of the twelve games he’s pitched on the mound with two wins and two saves to his credit and holds a 1.98 earned run average.
