Last Monday the Charlton County golf teams played in the Class A Division II Area I Golf Tournament in Quitman with the Maidens coming out on top against six other schools. Charlton beat runner-up Seminole County by an impressive thirteen strokes 177-190 to claim the top prize. Leading the way was the low medalist for the tournament, Ella Rodeffer who shot an 88. Right behind was Lily Huling with an 89 as those two scores counted for their total of 177. Also, for the Maidens Kimbree Gowen shot a 96 while Amelia Crews added a score of 117.
The state tournament will be held on May 18-19 at the Willow Lake Golf Club in Metter.
