Ronnie Manning, 64, of Folkston, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 10, 1962, in Pensacola, FL, Ronnie lived a life defined by dedication to his family, service to his country, and friendship to all who knew him.
Ronnie proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring as an E-7 Chief Petty Officer. His years of service reflected his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Penny (McMillan) Manning; his children, Amber Manning of Folkston, GA and Zary (wife Katy) Manning of Andrews, NC; his siblings, Grace Manning of Quincy, FL, Hope Dione of Quincy,FL, and Judy Briggs of Tampa,FL; step-siblings Emily Gene, Barry Pitts, Joel Pitts, and Daniel Pitts; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Pitts; his stepfather, Larry Pitts; his father, Ernest Manning; and his stepmother, Annie Manning.
Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, family man, and friend. Ronnie’s greatest joys in life were his devotion to his family, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, talking real estate, spending time on his tractor, and making memories with his dear friends. He will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, wisdom, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Philadelphia Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Ray McMillan officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorialization will be by cremation.
