Vanessa accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She joined Jerusalem Holiness Church at age eight and was baptized under the leadership of Elder Bobby Roberson. Later in life, she became a member of Mount New Home Missionary Baptist Church where she attended faithfully.
Vanessa was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and cleaning. Especially for her friends and neighbors who needed assistance. In her spare time, she enjoyed listening to music, and watching her “stories” on television, and completing word puzzles. She loved having a good time with friends and family, the life of the party. She will be remembered by her bold and sassy personality that drew a laugh from all her knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Marshall Elliott, her grandparents, Rozena Moore, and Henry Lee Bailey.
Those left to cherish her memory; her loving daughter, LaTanya Williams of San Antonio Texas, her mother, Rosa Elliott of Folkston, Georgia; devoted aunt and second mother, Essie Sims, sisters: Nikita (Sacret) Jordan; Deborah (Bruce) Young of Folkston, Georgia; brother, Ervin (Norma) Sims of Columbia, SC; nephew, Sebastian James of Folkston, GA; special friends: Georgia Medlock of Folkston, GA, Yvette Cook of Jacksonville, FL and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 @ 11:00 am at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Dixie Lake Road, Folkston, Ga. 31537.
