Vera Ann Bridges, 71, of Folkston, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, January 06, 2026 following a lengthy illness. She was born on January 22, 1955 to the late, Della Elmore and James Thomas, Sr. in Charlton, County, Ga. She was educated in the Bethune School System. Vera was a member of Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church and her employment was with the Life Care Center of Hilliard, Fl. until her health would no longer allow her to work. In her free time Vera enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family . Vera was preceded in death by both parents, Della Elmore and James Thomas, Sr.; her husband, Charles Bridges, Sr. and her brothers, Jimmy, Tommy and Howard Elmore, Sr. Those left to cherish her memory: her children, Charles, Jr., Jason, Idella and Tristan Bridges; her grandchildren, Ariel, Derious, Kanye, Montie, Destiny, Lauren, Braylen, Carson, Cameron, Ni’Jaie, Saige, Zihyon, Jah’son, Jada, Imani, Isaiah, Kane, Imara, Desarae, Zane, Jayden and Joslyn; her loving sister, Gloria (Howard) Baker; her bother, James Thomas, Jr.; her special and close nieces, Carissa (Anthony) White and Ashanti (Brandon) Harris as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her immensely. There will not be a wake/visitation. Remains will lie in repose on the day of services for one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 @ 12 noon at Mt. New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 416 Dixie Lake Road, Folkston, Ga. 31537. Viewing will be from 11 am until 12 Noon. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Repast at Mt. New Home Church Social Hall following services.
