Jack McArthur Prescott, Sr. (10/4/2026)
Jack McArthur Prescott, Sr., 83, of Folkston, Georgia passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026. He was born in Charlton County, Georgia on September 20, 1943, to the late Benjamin Prescott and Julia Harris Prescott. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force serving in Spain, Germany, Africa, Oregon, Thailand, Texas and Georgia. Jack was a member and oversaw Raulerson Hunting Club for many years. He was also a member of the VFW.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son: J.M. Prescott; sisters: Jane Prescott, Maxine Dees, Judy Thrift and Jacqueline “Jackie” Prescott; and brothers: B.M. Prescott, Donald Prescott and Bill Prescott.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years: Carolyn Prescott; son: George Prescott; grandchildren: Candi (Zack) Lewis and Caitlyn (Brandon) Bulloch; great-grandchildren: Kenzie, Liam, Joey and Madeline; and sister and brother-in-law: Annie and Roger Thrift.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. A service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in the chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home with R.B. Gaskins officiating. Burial will be at Corinth Cemetery.
