Jonell Hickox Kelly (3/23/2026)
Jonell Hickox Kelly, 89 of Folkston, Georgia passed away March 23, 2026, at River City Rehab. She was born January 24, 1937, in Douglas, Georgia to the late Evin and Ethel Hickox. Mrs. Jonell was a member of First Baptist Church of Folkston. She loved her Saturday mornings at Glenda’s Beauty Shop, loved to fish, and loved her dog, “Sarabi”. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and extended family more than anything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Virgil Mizell Kelly; a sister: Evelyn Hickox; and brother: Carl Hickox.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-laws: Karen (John) Glenn of Fernandina Beach, FL and Kim (Philip) Schweizer of Fernandina Beach, Fl.; three Grandchildren: Hanna (Wendell) Sheffield of Yulee, FL, Joseph Glenn and Carmen Graham of Soperton, GA and J.P. Schweizer of Fernandina Beach, FL; two great-grandchildren: Parks Glenn and Wilder Glenn both of Soperton, GA; special neighbors: Nancy and Sarah Joyner, Hannah and Ryan; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at Pineview Cemetery on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Randy Jacoby officiating.
