The Charlton County Okefenokee Chamber of Commerce proudly attended the 2026 Okefenokee Day at the Capitol and Georgia Chamber Rural Day at the Capitol to champion rural Georgia and promote the economic impact of the Okefenokee region.
Attendees engaged with members of the Georgia General Assembly’s Rural Caucus and heard insights from state leaders, including Commissioner of Agriculture Tyler Harper; Tim Lowrimore, President and CEO of the Georgia Forestry Association; Rachel Kinsaul, the 2026 Georgia Teacher of the Year from Morgan County High School; Bryan Williams, Chief Credit Officer at Farmers and Merchants Bank; and Jason Dunn, Executive Director of the Fitzgerald and Ben Hill County Development Authority.
Alongside the Charlton County Development Authority, the Chamber hosted a table inside the Capitol, representing Folkston, Homeland, and St. George while highlighting tourism, small businesses, and the unique assets of our community.
From tourism development to rural economic initiatives, the Chamber ensured that Charlton County was represented in conversations shaping Georgia’s future.
