Dylan Rowland and Cole Crawford combined to no-hit Clinch County Middle School last Wednesday in Homerville as the Bethune Braves routed the Panthers, 16-0, in three innings.
The Braves opened up the top of the first inning by scoring nine runs.
Ian Vickers got the scoring started with a bases loaded single to score two runs.
After a passed ball scored a run, Crawford singled to bring home the fourth run.
Eli Hobbs added a sacrifice fly and Tanner Murray drove home a run with another hit bringing the score to 6-0.
Haze Johnson followed with another run-scoring single before Jaylen Lilley capped off the inning with a triple to score two more runners.
Seven more Braves would cross the plate in the second inning.
An error scored one run before Conner Lloyd’s single drove in two more runs.
Lloyd would eventually score on a steal of home before back-to-back doubles by Lilley and Rowland put the Braves ahead 15-0. An error allowed the final run to score.
Both teams were scoreless in the third inning as the game was called due to the mercy rule.
Lilley and Lloyd led the Bethune offense with two hits each while Rowland struck out three batters in his two innings of work while Crawford struck out the side in the third inning.
