The Charlton County track teams competed at the Sectional Meet last Saturday in Albany and multiple athletes from both squads qualified for the State Track Meet, which begins Thursday, in Columbus.

The girls team had an exceptional day led by Kiara Green who placed first in the 100, 200, and 400 meter runs. Marissa Green was right behind placing first in the 100 meter hurdles and the triple jump, while finishing second in the long jump. Also qualifying in multiple events were Dulce Meza who finished third in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, while Anehi Meza was fourth in the 3200 meter and fifth in both the 800 and 1600 meters. Taylor Knox kept things going good with second place finishes in the 100 meter hurdles, the high jump and the triple jump. Also qualifying was Kyla Kidd with a sixth place finish in the 400 meter run. Wrapping up qualifiers is the 4x400 relay team which placed fourth. The relay team consists of a combination of Kiara Green, Marissa Green, Dulce and Anahi Meza, Kidd and Knox.
