Congratulations to former Indian star Champ Bailey for being nominated for the College Football Hall of Fame. He is among 85 former players and coaches that will be voted on by National Football Foundation members and current College Football Hall of Famers. The 2021 Hall of Fame class will be announced in early 2021.

The Georgia High School Association has increased the maximum group sizes for activities to 50 people along with allowing sports specific equipment during conditioning.

The WNBA announced that they have reached an agreement with the players about holding a 22-game season with all games being held at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The regular season and playoffs are expected to run from July through October.

The NBA is still going forward with their plans to resume the season despite a spike of Covid-19 cases in Florida. Beginning Tuesday, the NBA will allow up to ten coaches in facilities as players prepare for a return to play. Teams will be allowed to have four players at a team facility starting on June 23 and up to eight players by July 1. From there, teams will leave for Orlando to participate in full training camps and scrimmages.

Major league baseball still has not set a date for its return. Players and owners are still squabbling over how many games to be played.

The National Arena League made the decision last week to cancel their season. Therefore, the Jacksonville Sharks will have to wait until the 2021 season to defend their championship.

NASCAR was set to hold their first event with fans in attendance at Talledega on Sunday, but weather postponed the race until Monday. Results will be in next week's Herald.

The PGA Tour continued play at Hilton Head with the RBC Heritage Classic. At one point during the final round there were 29 golfers within three shots of the lead, but in the end it would be Webb Simpson holding off Abraham Ancer by one stroke to win his seventh career tournament.

The first leg of the Triple Crown of horse racing took place last Saturday at the Belmont Stakes. With no fans in attendance it would be Tiz the Law winning the event by four lengths.
