The Bethune Middle School track and field teams put on a good performance last week in a three-way meet that included Hilliard and Callahan Middle Schools.

For the boys’ team, Jamari Hamilton picked up first place finishes in the long jump and 100 meters. The Braves also picked up first place finishes in the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. The 4x100 relay team consisted of Hamilton, Demorrion Martin, Emari Williams, and Isaac Bryant. The 4x400 team included Jamari Hamilton, Imod Hamilton, D.J. Whitlock, and Elyiss Williams.

Emari Williams took home second place in the long jump, while Bryant took third in the same event. Xzavion Jackson finished third in the shot put.

Placing fourth was Emari Williams in the 100 meters, Whitlock in the 400 meters, Javion Whitlock in the 800 meters, and R.J. James in the 1600 meters. Also placing fourth was the 4x400 relay team of Martin, Brandon Woodard, Tyson Lloyd, and Fellows.

For the girls’ team, they would pick up first place finishes by Mahogany Steele in the shot put, Liza Overstreet in the discus, Kiara Dickerson in the 100 meters, Heaven Whitlock in the 400 meters, and Christiona Farmer in the long jump. Also placing first was the 4x100 relay team of Kailynn Knox, Farmer, Deekayla Mackey, and Dickerson.

Placing second was Farmer in the 100 meters and April Key in the sot put. Also placing second was the 4x100 relay team of Amari Holmes, Taylor Knox, Gracia Maxwell, and Shiunna Dasher along with the 4x400 relay team of Dasher, Makayla Milton, Payton Lynch, and Holmes.

Iana Stewart placed third in the shot put, while Joelie Kern placed fourth in the 800 meters, and Dasher placed fourth in the long jump.
