The Bethune Middle School Braves and Maidens returned from their holiday break on Wednesday and came away with a split on the road in their games with St. Marys Middle School. The Maidens kept their hopes of an unbeaten season alive as they had no problems in winning. The Braves showed some improvement, but came up short in their quest for their initial win.

   The Maidens jumped out to a 26-8 halftime lead and never looked back on the way to their 43-15 win. Christiona Farmer led the Maidens with 23 points followed by Sincere Humphries with ten points. Rihanna Battle added seven points, while Trenity Hamilton wrapped up the scoring with three points.

 The Braves battled hard, but came up short to the Bobcats by a 53-35 score. Eli Hobbs led the Braves with 12 points, while D.J. Whitlock and Omari Wilson both added eight points. Quincy Wilson chipped in for six more points.

 Bethune traveled to play Camden Middle School on Monday and will host the same team on Thursday to wrap up the season.
