The Charlton County archery team opened up their first match in Statesboro last Saturday with a good effort. Top shooters on the day, with their score, were Jolie Pickren 268, Charles Burch 255, Keshia Daley 249, Heaven Waters 245, Trey Cribb 241, Larry Clairday 236, Thomas Johnson 227, Breanna Wells 225, Braden Whittenburg 223, Jordan Iovino 223, Alexis Corpening 221, and Trenton Forcine 219. Other shooters for the day were Anna Howard, Cassidy Engler, Ryleigh Murrhee, John Waters, Julianna Collins, James Robinson, Skyler Johnson, Johnathan Zagorski, and Malaysia Muhammad-Johnson. The archers had a team score of 2832 in the first outing of the year. They will need to score at least 2900 to qualify for regionals so that score is not far off.
