Dear Editor,

Next Saturday, Charlton County Republican Women, will be having its first organizational meeting. They will be discussing support for President Donald Trump and his efforts to “Make America Great Again.” I would like to thank Janet Harvin from St. George for her dedication and passion for bringing her vision of a group of ladies forming a club where we can voice our concerns and work as a group to find a solution. We owe a debt of gratitude and thanks to Augusta Gammon, who has gone the extra mile in support, letters, and help to get us started, and to the Republican ladies of The Coastal Republican Women?s Club, of Brunswick in helping to organize and support not only with guidance and knowledge, but financially for the establishment of a club dedicated to the Republican women and their concerns for our county, state, and country. Women look way into the future and gage what we do today in how it will affect the futures of our children and grandchildren. We were established as a Christian nation. Women are partners with men in this country not second-class citizens.

What will America be like in 20 years, will they live with the same freedoms our forefathers wrote down in ?The Bill of Rights?, and in the ?Constitution?, much of which was modeled out of the Christian Bible. The fate of this country will be based on what we do today to ensure future Americans the same rights and freedoms we enjoy, will they be able to go to church without fearing for their life, will they make their own decisions about their future or will they be told, will they have due process of law, will they be able to travel freely within their own country as we do today? How we vote will affect opportunities and freedoms future American citizens have. We want the same freedoms and possibilities for the future generations as we have.

We look forward to joining other women of our state in The Georgia Federation of Republican Women (GWR) in common goals and conservative values with an eye on the future. One of our first objectives is to charter with the GRW and we will do this at our first meeting.

Our first meeting will be Saturday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Brickhouse Restaurant. This meeting is very important as an organizational meeting, we will be establishing our goals for what the women of Charlton County want this group to do to ensure the future of the young people to enjoy the same freedoms as we do. We want to work in the cause of good government, a government that serves the people not dictates, we want to educate people and provide programs and speakers on topics that you feel needs more information provided to the individual voter. We want to make this your club fulfilling the needs you need as a community that affects us and this nation.
