Shirley Louise Snowden, 81, of Folkston, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born October 2, 1941 in Folkston, to the late Frank S. Snowden and Ernie Katheoline Nettles Snowden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Dennis Snowden, Dean Troy Snowden, John Ernest Snowden, Albert Earl Snowden and Charlton Laverne Snowden.
She is survived by her sister: Annie Lee Snowden; a brother: Marvin (June) Snowden; and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 22, 2023 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, with Pastor Tim King officiating. The family received friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial followed in Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mitchell Snowden, Arthur Joe Geiger, Scott Lambert, Josh Wise, Dennis Snowden, Everett Sikes and Rod Norris. Honorary Pallbearers were Joe Lester Chesser and Allen Lloyd.
