Sauquan Lamont Albertie, 41, a Camden County native and resident of Indianapolis, IN passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 29, 2019.
He was born September 1, 1977 to Samuel Albertie, Sr. and Sheila Glover Smith in Fernandina Beach.
"Quan", as he was affectionately known to his family and close friends, graduated in the Class of 1996 from Camden County High School where he participated in his favorite sport of football. His favorite teams were the Miami Hurricanes and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He grew up in and was a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. Quan was employed as a commercial truck driver most of his life until his health would no longer allow him to perform his duties in logistics.
Quan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Hernan and Rose Albertie and his maternal grandparents, Raleigh and Willie Mae Glover.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his companion of ten years, Rita Ewing, of Indianapolis, IN; two daughters, Saucoya Thomas, of Brunswick, and Suivana Albertie, Indianapolis, IN; one grandchild, Ti'mia Thomas, of Brunswick; his parents, Sheila (Earl) Smith, of Folkston, and Samuel Albertie, Sr., of Yulee; his sister, Somiko Woods, of St. Marys; two step-sisters, Demetria Moses, of Jacksonville, and Latoya Bolden, of Folkston; his brothers, Samuel Albertie, Jr., of Jacksonville and Santreus (Heidi) Albertie, of Orlando; a step-brother, Jeremy Smith, of Folkston; his step-grandfather, Wilbur Smith, of Kingsland; his aunts, Jeanette Adams, Dorothy, Magaline and Ann Albertie, all of Yulee, Rena Lois Albertie, of Jacksonville, Violet (Kenneth) McRoy, of Knoxville, Gloria (Earnest) Wesley, of Folkston, Carolyn LaFayne (Don) Brockington, of Lakeland and Betty Ann (Donnie) Humphries, of Hilliard; his uncles, Herman (Janice) Clinton and Greg Albertie, all of Yulee and Terry (Marie) Jacobs, of Yulee and Donald (Willette) Glover, of Woodbine, Dennis (Cassandra) Smith, of Jacksonville and William (Patricia) Smith, of Folkston; a close friend, Bilal Siler, of Knoxville, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 5 at Refreshing Oasis Church, 1495 S. 5th Avenue in Kingsland from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Refreshing Oasis Church. Interment in Kinlaw cemetery.
