Lindsey ‘Bud’ Reed

Bro. Lindsey ‘BUD’ Reed, 67, of Folkston, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL following frequent bouts with health issues.  He was born on March 1, 1954 to the late, Deacon James Reed and Mother Marie Reed-Brunswick in Toledo, GA (Charlton County).  He was a member of Mt. New Missionary Baptist Church and worked as a Brick Mason most of his life along with many other skills that allowed him to be a “jack of all trades.” “Bud,” as he was affectionately known by family and close friends, will always be remembered for the fun loving, up front and honest person that he was.  He was always willing to help anyone that he could.  You never had to wonder where he stood on anything, but he always put family first and did what he could to help when his health would allow.

He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon James Reed and three sisters, Ester Walker, Janie Reed and Mary Reed-Burton.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Mother Mary Reed-Brunswick, Folkston; one son, Michael (Denise) Jerrick, Columbia, SC; his sisters, Geneva Lee, Waycross, GA, Linda (Johnny) Reed-Moore, Jacksonville, FL, Barbara (Jessie) Redmon, Folkston, Gloria (Dwayne) Everett, Folkston, Marion Lynn Reed, Jacksonville, FL and Ruby (Lonnie) Johnson, Folkston; his brother, James (Florrie) Reed, Jr., Woodbine, GA; four grandchildren, Michael, Jr., David, Kiana, Alexis; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Gregory; a god daughter, Sheka Campbell of California; his uncle, Sam (Shirley) Reed, Folkston; his aunt, Ernestine Reed, Folkston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him immensely.
