Glynn Richard Lloyd, Sr.

Glynn Richard Lloyd, Sr., 84, of Homeland, gained his heavenly wings Wednesday, August 26, 2020 following a lengthy illness.  He was born July 14, 1935 in Folkston, to the late John Rufus Lloyd, Sr. and Winnie May Guinn Lloyd.  He enjoyed golfing, baking and building cabinets and wood working.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Folkston and served on the Homeland City Council.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Meryl Hannaford Lloyd, brothers, Carl Alfred “Bud” Lloyd, Sr., Ronald Roy Lloyd, Sr., and George Albert Lloyd; a sister, Hazel Ruth Wise; and a grandson, Jarrod Thomas Brannan.

He is survived by his children, Glynn Richard (Angela) Lloyd, Jr., Ronald Wade (Joanne) Lloyd, John Wayne (Joann) Lloyd, Brenda Lloyd (Larry) Brannan, and Teresa Anderson (Harry) Guinn; grandchildren, Brian Richard Lloyd, Michael Anthony Lloyd, Gabriel Adam Lloyd, Timothy Joseph Lloyd, Eric Wade Lloyd, Anthony John Lloyd, Johnna Lloyd Taylor, Melissa Graham, Deana Bawkin, and Tracey Guinn; brother, John R. “Bo” (Janie) Lloyd, Jr.; sisters, Judy Annette Dixon and Linda Gail (Kelly) Brown; 32 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Monday, August 31 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston.  Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, September 1, 2020 with Rev. Ray McMillan officiating in Pineview Cemetery.

Due to the COVID-19, the family asked all to follow the rules of social distancing and face mask were recommended at the service. Also, anyone who did not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
