Claudette  Chatman-Smith

It is with great sadness that the family of Claudette Smith announces her passing after a brief illness, on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the age of 80 years old. 

Claudette will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Sallie Chatman, her children, Anthony (Emmy), Cheryl (Roy), Stanley (Sheryl) and Jana. She will be fondly remembered by her 13 grandchildren, Derek, Ryan, Roy II, Rachelle, Kelleigh, Kameron, Heidi, Dustin, Tabitha, Sadie, Stanley, Dylan and Ivy. Claudette will be forever remembered by her brother and sister, James (Cathy) Chatman and Yvonne Ragsdale; and by her sisters and brothers -in law, Celie Maynor, Minnie (Henry) Benefield, Gloria (Cephus) Nicholson, Bessie (Karl) Robinson, and Wilbert Smith. 

She was predeceased by her husband Albert Smith.

There will not be a wake/visitation. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services.

 A celebration of Claudette Smith’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., at Evergreen Baptist Church, 1365 Kinlaw Road, Woodbine, with Reverend Leon Washington officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Folkston, with a repast at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. 

Final arrangements entrusted to Royal Funeral Home, Inc., Jesup.
