The annual Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge volunteer awards and Okefenokee Wildlife League Banquet was held Thursday, April 25. Guests were welcomed and Michael Lusk, Refuge Manager gave a blessing before enjoying the meal provided. 

Raffles were given away by Gracie Gooch before she, Susie Heisey and Michael Lusk handed out volunteer awards. The awards went to those who accumulated 250 to 3,500 hours of volunteering. Volunteers that had not reached that goal yet were also recognized. 

Vivian Dickserson reported the OWL annual meeting while Genny Gowen gave the financial report and Marward Howard gave the membership report for OWL. Vivian Dickserson recognized the 1042 Award Winner, Jim Holler, who has spoken to several groups concerning the Refuge.
