MLK Celebration to be held Monday

The Unified Alliance’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. parade and program will be held Monday, January 18. The march will begin on Martin Street at DFCS at 11:00 a.m., will travel down Main Street and end at the courthouse. The services will take place outside at Chatman-Mobley Park beginning at 12:00 p.m. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. Some masks may be available at the program and attendees are asked to please bring a chair. Grand Marshalls for the event are First Responders (healthcare workers, law enforcement). Junior Grand Marshalls will be the young men from the Good Folks group, sponsored by Antwon Nixon. Also being recognized will be the ministries who help sponsor local food drives as well as members of the school system.
