On February 25, the Okefenokee Heritage Center held a Black History Month Art Show and Reception in Waycross, Georgia to spotlight Black artists. Executive Director of the Okefenokee Heritage Center, Carla Cornett, invited local artist Kelvin Henderson to attend and display his artwork.
Henderson shared his story about his artwork and how he got into art. Last year in October, Henderson became the first Black artist from Charlton County to compete in the Judge Ben Smith Art Competition in Waycross. He will also be in the Waycross Magazine coming out in the first part of March.
