The Folkston Police Department released reports from May 1 through May 30.

On May 1, Officer Jason Rifenbark was dispatched to the intersection of First Street and Maplewood Street. A 2002 Dodge Caravan driven by Jerry Perry Arnett was parked at Badcock facing east. A 1999 Ford F150 driven by David Keith Daniels was parked at Advance Rehabilitation facing west. Both vehicles attempted to back from their parking areas, causing the vehicles to strike each other. Both drivers stated they were backing at the time of impact. The point of impact is unknown due to both vehicles being moved upon arrival.

On May 2, Officer James Murray was dispatched to GA Hwy. 4 at the intersection of Garden Street. Vehicle one, a 2003 Chevrolet Utility Truck, driven by Johnnie James Mitchell, was traveling south on GA Hwy. 4. Vehicle two, a 2006 Chevrolet K150, driven by Ryan Christopher Lambert, was traveling south on GA Hwy. 4 ahead of vehicle one. Vehicle three, a 2016 Buick Enclave, driven by Marilyn M. Johnson, was traveling north on GA Hwy. 4. Vehicle two entered the continuous turning lane and attempted to turn left onto Oliff Street. Vehicle one also entered into the continuous turning lane behind vehicle two. Vehicle one struck vehicle two in the rear, causing vehicle two to spin facing north, in the north bound lane. A toolbox from vehicle two was ejected from the bed of vehicle two and struck vehicle three. The driver of vehicle one was taken to Shands Jacksonville by Charlton EMS.

On May 2, Officer Jason Rifenbark was dispatched to the Folkston Post Office driveway. Vehicle one, a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Philip Leo Kuerzi, was traveling northbound through the post office parking lot. Vehicle two, a 2007 International, owned by SYSCO Jacksonville, Inc., was parked and facing westbound. Vehicle one attempted to drive between the guardrail and vehicle two. Vehicle one struck the guardrail and continued forward striking vehicle two.

On May 2, Office Gary Rhoden was dispatched to The Friendly Express on Second Street. Vehicle one, a 2017 Peterbilt, driven by Robert King Brown, was traveling east through the Friendly Express parking lot. Vehicle two, a 2012 International Prostar, was parked in a parking space facing west on the north side parking area, occupied by John S. Gardocki, in the sleeper area of vehicle two. Vehicle one attempted to make a left U-turn around the rear of vehicle two in order to park in a space north of vehicle two and face west also. The trailer of vehicle one struck the trailer of vehicle two.

On May 5, Officer James Murray, was dispatched to Martin Street. Vehicle two, a 2015 Ford F150, driven by William Charles Richey, was traveling north through the parking lot at Flash Foods #107. Vehicle one, a 2010 GMC pickup, driven by Brandy Nicole Smith, was parking facing east. Vehicle one began backing and struck vehicle two in the passenger door.

On May 14, Officer James Murray was dispatched to the El Cheapo Gas Station. Vehicle one, a 2017 Nissan Rogue, driven by Bradford Lyle Nazworth, and vehicle two, a 2005 Honda Accord, were parked in the El Cheapo parking lot facing north. Vehicle two was parked to the right and behind Vehicle one. Vehicle one began backing and struck vehicle two in the driver’s door.

On May 20, Officer Jason Rifenbark was dispatched to FES Road at it’s intersection with Little Phoebe Church Road. Vehicle one, a 1992 Ford Ranger, driven by Benjamin Levi Vines, was traveling east on Little Phoebe Church Road. Vehicle two, a 2016 Ford Edge, driven by Robyn Elise Miller, was stopped at the stop sign on FES Road, at it’s intersection with Little Phoebe Church Road facing south. Vehicle one attempted to turn left onto FES Road. Vehicle one struck vehicle two. Driver of Vehicle one advised that the sunlight obscured his vision.

On May 20, Officer Jason Rifenbark was dispatched to GA Hwy. 2 at it’s intersection with Homeland Park Road. Vehicle one, a 2002 KIA Spectra, driven by Phyllis D. Jones, was stopped at the stop sign on Homeland Park Road at the intersection with GA Hwy. 4 facing west. Vehicle two, a 2000 Freightliner FCI, driven by Vandell Dasher, was traveling north on GA Hwy. 4. Vehicle one attempted to enter the intersection of GA Hwy. 4 as vehicle two was traveling north bound. Vehicle one failed to yield to vehicle two. Vehicle one struck vehicle two.

On May 24, Officer Jason Rifenbark was dispatched to GA Hwy. 4 at it’s intersection with Oakwood Street. Vehicle one, a 2017 Nissan Armada driven by Joon HoLee, was stopped at the stop sign on Oakwood Street at it’s intersection with GA Hwy. 4 facing west. Vehicle two, a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Taylor Elizabeth Tyson, was stopped at the stop sign on Oakwood Street at the intersection with GA Hwy. 4 facing east. Both vehicles entered the intersection onto GA Hwy. 4. Vehicle one attempted to turn left as vehicle two attempted to continue straight. Vehicle one struck vehicle two.

On May 25, Officer Jason Rifenbark was dispatched to Bay Street at the intersection with GA Hwy. 4. Vehicle one, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jonathan Brent Lambert, was stopped at the stop sign on Bay Street facing east at the intersection with GA Hwy. 4. Vehicle two, a 2006 Ford Five Hundred, driven by Raymond Maurice Smith, was stopped behind vehicle one. Vehicle one attempted to back up. Vehicle one struck vehicle two.

On May 28, Officer Michael Maddox was dispatched to GA Hwy. 4 at the intersection with Oakwood Street. Vehicle one, a 2004 Ford Explorer, driven by Kristi Leeann Mishoe, was traveling north bound on GA Hwy. 4 approaching the intersection of Oakwood Street. Vehicle two, a 2003 Buick Century, stopped at the intersection of Oakwood Street and GA Hwy. 4 facing west. Vehicle two failed to yield entering the north bound lane of GA Hwy. 4 and struck vehicle one in the front right fender causing visible damage to both vehicles. Vehicle two then left the scene losing the front grill of the vehicle.

On May 30, Office Jason Rifenbark was dispatched to Main Street at the intersection with First Street. Vehicle one, a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Antonia Everett Nixon, was traveling east on Main Street. Vehicle two, a 2008 Ford Mustang, driven by Amanda Paige Poleski, was stopped for the red light on First Street, facing west at the intersection with Main Street. The light for First Street north, south travel turned green and vehicle two entered the intersection. Vehicle one failed to stop at the red light on Main Street entered the intersection and struck vehicle two. It was found that vehicle one had no valid insurance.
