The Folkston Police Department recently released the following motor vehicle crash reports.
On November 4, a 2003 Ford F150, driven by David Mason Warren, was traveling southbound on Third Street at the intersection of Bay Street. Vehicle 2 failed to yield to Ford. Vehicle 2 struck the Ford on the driver’s side rear fender. Vehicle 2 left the scene of the accident, but was described as a light colored small sedan.
November 10, a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Nicoletta Kelly Conger, was stopped facing east in the parking lot of Circle K, at the intersection of GA Hwy. 4 and Martin Street on the south side of pump number one. A 2017 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Coretta Odetta Frazier, entered the parking lot from Forest Street behind the Chrysler. The Hyundai began to travel east, as the Chrysler also continued in the same direction, and attempted to travel to the right of the Hyundai, which struck the Chrysler. This accident was captured on video.
November 18, a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Mary Jayne Phillips, was parked in a parking space, facing north, in front of the McKinney Center. A 2017 Jeep Compass, driven by Jared Nolan Anderson, was stopped at the stop light on Main, facing west on Main Street. The Chrysler attempted to back from the parking space ans struck the Jeep.
November 20, a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by Seth Leigh Cook, was parked in a parking spot at Dairy Queen, facing north. A 2019 Ford Fiesta, driven by Angelica Nicole Woodard, was traveling west through the Dairy Queen parking lot. The Mitsubishi began backing and struck the Ford in the right rear fender.
November 21, A 2009 Saturn Outlook, driven by Jessica Lynn Morrow, was stopped at the stop sign facing west on GA Hwy. 252 at its intersection with Indian Trail. A 2009 Nissan Altima, driven by Danny Lamar James, was traveling south on Indian Trail. The Nissan failed to stop at the stop sign and attempted to turn east onto GA Hwy. 252, in the westbound lane. The Nissan struck the Saturn. The driver of the Nissan advised his vision was obscured by the fog on the windshield.
November 25, both a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Paul M. Estep and a 2009 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Mark Lloyd, were attempting to turn south on GA Hwy. 4, leaving the truck stop. While attempting to turn south onto GA Hwy. 4, the Chevrolet was following the Toyota too closely and struck the Toyota in the rear bumper, causing visible damage to both vehicles.
November 29, a 2000 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Willie C. Maxwell, entered the parking lot of Circle K on Main Street traveling towards the parking spaces in the front of the store. The Toyota entered a handicap parking space and failed to stop, striking the handicap parking pole before continuing on into the side of the building, causing damage to the exterior and interior of the store.
