The Folkston Police Department released the following incident reports for the dates of November 9 through November 16.

On November 9, at 12:50 p.m., Officers Daniel Lightsey and Jason Rifenbark responded to the Folkston Park Nursing Home. When they arrived, they met the complainant, who requested a criminal trespass warning be issued to the offender, Alexis Lushonna Roberts. The officers met with Roberts who failed to comply with several law enforcement requests for her I.D.  The investigation resulted in Roberts being taken into custody on the charges of obstructing law enforcement officers and criminal trespass warning. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office, interviewed, issued a Criminal Tresspass Warning (CTW). The CTW was issued due to employee/employer disagreement, and turned over to the jailor on duty.  A warrant was secured.  This case is closed.

November 11, Officer Kurtis Ford conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Nissan Altima for a blown headlight. While speaking with the driver, Kevin Mykel Wesley Young, Officer Ford smelled the odor of burnt marijuana.  During the search of the Altima, a plastic bag containing marijuana was found. Young was then placed under arrest and transported to the jail for an interview. Young was issued citations for VGCSA less than one ounce (marijuana) and driving an unsafe/improperly equipped vehicle. He was turned over to the jailor on duty. The case is cleared by arrest.

November 12, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Officer Wyatt Garvin observed a 2009 Silver GMC Sierra pickup traveling northbound on GA Hwy. 4 near the new Charlton County Board of Education building, with a busted taillight. Officer Garvin conducted a traffic stop on the GMC pickup on Indian Trail, west of the Hwy. 252 intersection. Officer Garvin met the driver, Stanley Terrell Robinson, and informed him the reason for the stop was due to his driver side taillight being busted.  Officer Garvin obtained Robinson’s driver’s license and ran his information through GCIC.  GCIC reported his license was suspended for child support obligation and he was wanted by Douglasville for a probation violation. Mr. Robinson was placed under arrest for the charges of driving while license is suspended/cancelled/revoked and driving an unsafe/improperly equipped vehicle, and probation warrant.  He was transported to the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to the jailor on duty. A detainer was placed on Robinson for the warrant.  This case is closed.

November 13, at approximately 3:37 a.m., Officer Wyatt Garvin observed a white 2006 Nissan Titan make a U-turn on GA Hwy. 4 at south Third Street/The Hilltop, from heading northbound to southbound.  Officer Garvin had previous knowledge that the Titan’s registration was canceled. Officer Garvin verified the registration was still suspended through GCIC and conducted a traffic stop on the Titan. The driver, Robert Gene Harris, Jr., was placed under arrest for driving a vehicle with suspended registration.  Harris was also issued a citation for driving an unsafe/improperly equipped vehicle and view obstructed. A cracked windshield on the driver’s side, which was greater than three inches, and an additional citation for an equipment violation because Harris’ top brake lights were not illuminating. Seldomridge towing took possession of the vehicle and Harris was transported to the Charlton County Sheriff’s office for booking and turned over to the jailor on duty.  This case is closed.

November 13, Officer Daniel Lightsey conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup for having an expired tag.  Officer Lightsey made contact with the driver, Skyler Naomi Hutson, who provided a driver’s license.  A check of Hutson’s information through GCIC revealed that her GA driver’s license was suspended on 4/6/2018 for failure to appear.  K-9 Hank alerted on the vehicle and a search revealed methamphetamine and a glass smoking devise.  Hutson was placed into custody and transported to the Charlton County Sheriff’s office where she was interviewed and turned over to the jailor on duty.  Warrants were secured for the charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a drug related object, and an expired tag.  This case is closed.

November 16, Officer Wyatt Garvin was sitting at the stop sign at the intersection of Bay Street and Sixth Street when he observed a tan 2007 Toyota Camry with a busted headlight on Bailey Street.  Officer Garvin conducted a traffic stop on the Camry and it was determined the driver, Douglas Jwuan Wineglass, had a suspended license after his information was ran through GCIC for a mandatory suspension on 7/19/2019.  Wineglass was taken into custody for driving while license suspended – first offense and driving an unsafe/improperly equipped vehicle.  Wineglass was transported to the Charlton County Sheriff’s office for booking and turned over to the jailor on duty.  This case is closed.

     November 17, Officer Gary Rhoden observed a 2019 Toyota Camry traveling south on GA 4 at what appeared to be a higher rate of speed then posted speed limit.  Officer Rhoden clocked the vehicle at 72 M.P.H. in a 55 M.P.H. zone.  He conducted a traffic stop on the Camry and met the offender, Jasmine Joanna Juarez.  Officer Rhoden smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the Camry.  Officer Rhoden’s investigation led to marijuana and a digital scale being found in the vehicle.  Juarez was placed under arrest, transported to the jail, interviewed, and turned over to the jailor on duty.  She was charged with VGCSA less than one ounce (marijuana), possession and use of drug related object, and speeding.  The juvenile in the vehicle was transported to the Sheriff’s office by Officer Maddox and turned over to DFACS.
