On May 8, the Charlton County Sheriff’s Office and State Probation conducted two probation searches on two probationers located in Charlton County.
The first probation search was at 71 Jordy Cobb Road on Christopher Brown. While searching, officers located drug paraphernalia containing a white residue powder that field-tested positive for cocaine. Brown was also in possession of alcohol, which is another violation of probation. Christopher Lerone Brown, 34, was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine.
The second probation search was conducted at 508 North Broadway Street in Homeland on Candy Cherylene Lang. During the search, officers located marijuana, drug paraphernalia, scales, baggies and approximately 14.7 grams of methamphetamines. Candy Lang, 57, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamines with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects and possession of marijuana less than an ounce.
Sheriff Conner also wanted to remind the citizens of scams. The sheriff’s office is still getting complaints of people in the community being scammed out of thousands of dollars! “Good rule of thumb, if it sounds to good to be true, it is,” stated Sheriff Conner.
Stay safe this summer
Sheriff Conner also wanted to remind the community summer is upon us! School is about to be out for Summer! Kids are going to be swimming in pools, ponds and our rivers! So please be careful and watch small children around these areas. Kids can get away from you quickly. Hope Everyone has a great Summer!
