Charlton County river accesses  limited during pandemic

Pictured above is a sign posted at the Traders Hill Boat Ramp, which reads, “The Chairman of the Charlton County Board of Commissioners has declared a Local State of Emergency in order to better deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to prevent or minimize injury to people and damage to property resulting in this event, the following sections of the Charlton County Code of Ordinances are being implemented: Section 10-13, Closed for restricted Areas and Curfews. By order of the Chairman, the following measures are being implemented: All public access points to the St. Marys and Satilla River within Charlton County are only open for boat access. There shall be no loitering, camping, fishing, or swimming on or around public riverbanks or docks.”
