Chamber, Whistlin’ Dixie holds fundraiser for CHARLTON CARES

Wednesday, December 23, Whistlin’ Dixie was host to employees and volunteers from the Okefenokee Chamber of Commerce as they waited tables in effort to raise money for CHARLTON CARES. All tips donated between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. were given directly to the group. CHARLTON CARES works to help those in need by reaching out to the community to find donations of furniture, clothing, household items and much, much more. The group also accepts monetary donations to help families with expenses such as power bills and housing. The event raised $333.00. To donate, contact CHARLTON CARES Director Barbie Dinkins. Items for donation can be brought to the Charlton County Herald at 3927 Main Street, Folkston (after a plan for pick-up has been arranged with Dinkins). For more information, call the Herald at 496-3585.
