The Charlton County Board of Education held a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, April 23 beginning at 7:00 p.m. During the meeting the following personnel action was approved: Brittany Alberty hired as teacher as Folkston Elementary School (FES); Joanne Reed hired as teacher at FES; Tonya Layden as teacher at FES; David Bailey hired as Head Basketball Coach and alternative school teacher at Charlton County High School (CCHS); Rudy Baker retiring as a CCHS paraprofessional; Maude Wynn retiring as a CCHS custodian; Battie Battle retiring as a school bus driver; Amanda McCoy resigned.
The low bid from Steven A. Carter Construction to install ground asphalt at the rear of the Board of Education building in the amount of $6,050.00 was approved.
The annual Baker County agreement was approved with no changes.
A field trip for the Charlton County 4-H Club to attend summer camp in June and the CCHS Maiden Softball team to travel for the State Finals were approved.
The second and final reading of Policy DIB that handles financial reports was approved.
A 2005 Ford school bus was declared surplus and Amanda Jackson was approved to continue to serve as representative on the Library Board.
The Go Solutions Group Medicaid billing agreement, Bright From The Start agreement, Okefenokee RESA contract, accounts payable and financial report were approved.
Minutes from the March 19 work session, March 19 regular meeting, and March 28 called meeting were approved.
