Assistant Secretary Wallace visits Okefenokee Refuge

The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge had an important visitor Friday, August 21, when Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks, Robert Wallace, came to Folkston. ONWR Director Michael Lusk showed the layout of the refuge and gave a brief presentation of its history and the Okefenokee’s importance to the area. Wallace was given a boat tour, as he heard praises and concerns from Lusk and other swamp employees.
